Life Is Beautiful is a story about tracing one’s first love and finding real love in the process. It follows the story of Oh Se Yeon, a devoted wife to her husband Jin Bong and a doting mother to their children. She suddenly learns that she no longer has much time left to live. As if trying to complete a puzzle in her life, she makes a strange request to her husband to help her find her first love. Although reluctant at first, Jin Bong finally gives in to his wife’s absurd final wish. Together, they embark on a journey to search for Se Yeon’s first love. However, the only information Se Yeon has is his name. Their trip turns out to be a bittersweet journey which allowed them to recall their precious moments in the past and to create fresh memories to keep.

Suddenly learning she is terminally ill, Se-yeon asks her husband, Jin-bong the absurd task of helping her find her first love, and he unwillingly joins her search. Along their journey, Se-yeon and Jin-bong are reminded of the most glittering, beautiful moments of their lives.
The story is so good it did not have to be a musical. The songs are harmless though. The title isn’t right for the movie though.
An unappreciated mom and wife finds out she is dying of cancer. She sets out on a road trip around Korea with her husband to find her first love. On the way hilarity ensues and she discovers her love for her husband again. There are insights into marriage love and family and how relationships change. Liked the way perceptions differ. Good performances all round both the old cast and the young cast. The lead actress is so different from her role in Sky Castle.
Worth watching.
