In 1985, in fictional downtown Hill Valley, California, teenager Marty McPhee and his girlfriend, Jennifer Parker, are handled for latency by the high school principal. Marty auditions for the band’s fight, but is dismissed because of being too loud. At home, Marty’s father George was harassed by his supervisor, Biff Tannan, while his mother Loren is an overweight, depressed alcoholic. Loren recalls how she met George when her father hit her with his car and later sent her back to health.
Marty was given to his friend, the eccentric inventor, Dr. Emmett Brown invited to meet in the parking lot in the early hours of the morning. DOC unveils a modified machine manufactured from DeLorean at a time and operated by plutonium obtained from Libyan terrorists. Showing control of Marty, the doctor set a date of November 5, 1955: the day he conceived the time travel device. Terrorists arrive unexpectedly and shoot at the doctor. Marty flees to Dalorian, but inadvertently activates the time machine.
Marty finds himself to go back to 1955 without any plutonium. He confronts teenage George, who has been harassed by his classmate Biff. After saving Marty George from an incoming car, he faints and wakes himself up to find Loren, who is dissatisfied with him.
